About PACE

Attract more general dentists to your CE programs by becoming PACE-approved. Members of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) seek PACE-approved CE providers to help them earn the quality CE they need to maintain their membership and achieve AGD's prestigious Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) awards.

PACE providers are expected to adhere to the PACE guidelinesPDF, which include 13 standards covering different areas in order to obtain and retain their approval status. Currently, PACE has approved 1,500 providers.

There are two different types of PACE Approval:

National PACE Provider Approval
You should apply for national PACE provider approval if you:

  • Offer courses in more than one state or province
  • Draw a significant portion of participants from more than one state or province
  • Offer self-instruction programs
  • Offer protocol (onsite/in-office) participation courses

National applications are reviewed bi-monthly by a committee of nine AGD member-dentists.

Complete the National Application and forward four copies to the AGD to apply for approval along with the $575 application fee.

Local Constituent PACE Provider Approval
You should apply for local constituent PACE approval if you:

  • Offer courses in only one state or province
  • Draw a significant portion of participants from only one state or province
  • Do not offer self-instruction programs
  • Do not offer protocol (onsite/in-office) participation course
