Keeping PACE News

Keeping PACE is the AGD PACE Providers' most current source of information from Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Headquarters. It is also a good reference tool for AGD leaders. Recipients are encouraged to check this resource on a regular basis for information that can help provide top-quality dental education and ensure compliance to published AGD PACE Guidelines. Approval Maintenance Fee Reminder

In August 2008, the Academy of General Dentistry announced that the 2008 AGD Board of Trustees approved a new PACE approval maintenance fee.  Only nationally-approved AGD PACE providers will be required to pay this annual $200 fee. Maintenance fees will be billed approximately 90 days prior to the anniversary of the provider’s approval month.    
Only nationally-approved providers with approval start dates of Jan. 1, 2009 are responsible for this fee.  If you are not sure if your organization is nationally- or locally approved, or if you are not sure of your approval start date, you can check your information on the Find a Provider page of the AGD Web site.
 
The first invoices will be e-mailed Oct. 1, 2009.  If your current term of approval began in 2009 and does not expire in 2009 or 2010 you will be receiving an invoice for $200 in 2010. (Providers who expire in 2010 will receive an application to renewal approval). Please check the schedule below to find out when your fee will be due:

Non-payment of all required fees within the established deadline(s) will be viewed as a decision by the approved provider to voluntarily withdraw from the PACE program. Any provider wishing to reinstate its recognition after discontinuation for non-payment of fees will be required to submit a new AGD PACE Application and follow the established procedures for recognition.  If you have any questions regarding this change in policy, please contact our PACE staff at PACE@agd.org or 888.243.3368, ext. 4335 or ext. 4114.
