The following constituent manuals assist constituent leaders in working with the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) to better represent the advocacy needs of general dentists within their respective constituents.

Legislative Manual
This handbook can assist your constituent’s legislative chairperson or, where there is no legislative chairperson, your constituent president, to work with the AGD Council on Legislative and Governmental Affairs to represent the state legislative and regulatory interests of general dentists.

Primer on Collaboration between ADA and AGD Constituents
The purpose of this primer is to emphasize the need for greater collaboration between ADA and AGD constituents so that AGD constituents can be an effective voice for general dentists in their respective states.

Constituent Dental Care Chairperson’s Resource Manual
This manual will provide assistance to your constituent’s dental care chairperson, or, where there is no dental care chairperson, your constituent president, to work with the AGD Council on Dental Care.

CAPWIZ Manual
This instruction manual is to facilitate education among constituent members to take action and voice their opinion via CAPWIZ.

Public Information Officer (PIO) Workbook
This manual will provide assistance to your constituent’s Public Information Officer (PIO), or, where there is no PIO, any constituent leader, to work with the Public Relations Council to apply public information efforts locally.

Prohibiting Fee Capping for Non-Covered Services
Several major dental benefits carriers are adding language to provider participation agreements to allow them to set fees for dental services that they do not pay for, i.e., non-covered services.  AGD has created a toolkit for you to use to help AGD constituents understand the issue and develop legislation that will prevent third party payers from setting fees for non-covered and/or non-reimbursed procedures.
